43 minutes...
That is all of the time that you will be in science every day.
This may seem like a lot of time, but in reality, after attendance, announcements, and such, its more like 33 minutes. Couple that with clean up time, its down to 25 minutes. That makes a lab or lesson really difficult.
What does this mean for you and your teacher? It means that you and your teacher have to come to class ready to contribute to a learning experience like no other. You have four minutes of passing time between classes, which is usually double of what you’ll need. Therefore, it is EXTREMELY important to come to class prepared to learn.
Learning is a team effort.
This means that both you and your teacher have numerous responsibilities to make your learning experience as good as it can be. By no means are the following lists all inclusive…
Your teachers have the following responsibilities:
1. Post the learning objective for the day.
2. Create an engaging activity that introduces their learning objective.
3. Start class in a timely manner, and facilitate your learning to the best of their ability.
Along with that, you also have some responsibilities, as teachers can’t learn material for you.
1. Arrive for class in a timely manner, and get ready for class.
2. Arrive for class with the correct materials. THIS MEANS NOT GOING BACK TO YOUR LOCKER AFTER CLASS HAS STARTED!
3. Don’t distract others from their efforts in learning.
4. Use your assignment notebook to record your assignment/learning objective.
